About WBI Advisory
Most financial conversations happen too late, feel too formal, or never happen at all. People carry questions they are not sure how to ask, make decisions without the full picture, and move through major life transitions without anyone truly in their corner. Wealth By Intent Advisory exists to be something different. A place where money is talked about openly, plans are built around real lives, and the relationship comes before anything else.
Curiosity Over Judgment
We approach every client relationship with genuine curiosity and without assumptions. Your background, your beliefs, your relationship with money, all of it shapes the kind of guidance that will actually work for you. We ask questions others might skip, listen without an agenda, and make a point of leaving our own biases at the door. The result is planning that fits your life, not a version of your life that is easier for us to work with.
Financial planning should not require a decoder ring. We translate complex topics into plain language so that every decision you make is one you genuinely understand and feel ready to own. We also believe that a real partnership includes the willingness to have difficult conversations when they matter. If something needs to be said, we will say it with care and without softening it into uselessness.
We take accountability personally. That means returning calls, following through on commitments, staying engaged between meetings, and caring about your progress the way you do. We get involved where we can add something real, and we measure our value by whether things are genuinely better for our clients over time.
Having worked across cultures, income levels, and life stages, we know firsthand that money is not a one-size experience. The way people build it, share it, and think about it is shaped by where they come from and what they value. That breadth of perspective is not incidental to our work. It is central to it, and it makes us more thoughtful advocates for the people we serve.
Financial education should be accessible to everyone, not just those who can already afford an advisor. We regularly speak to community groups, organizations, and professional networks on topics that help people make better financial decisions at every stage of life. When people understand their options, they make better choices. And a more financially informed community is a stronger one.

Dave Balakrishnan CFP®, AIF®, MBA
Owner, Dream Architect
Nearly 25 years ago, I arrived from Chennai, India, inspired by the belief that this is a land of opportunity where dedication and grit allow anyone to pursue their calling. My journey has shown me that while a supportive environment exists for those ready to build, navigating the complexities of a new financial system can be a significant undertaking. I believe that with the right guidance, this path becomes more navigable, allowing families to focus on their growth and long-term goals.
Before transitioning into financial planning, I spent 20 years within a global Fortune 500 company leading operations. This experience trained me to view complex systems holistically, identifying how individual pieces connect and where potential risks may reside. I bring this analytical perspective to Wealth By Intent Advisory LLC, where I specialize in coordinating cash flow, investments, tax strategy, and insurance into a singular, cohesive strategy.
My practice is specifically designed to support mid- to late-career professionals and globally mobile families. I focus on building retirement income strategies that account for the nuances of Social Security, Medicare, and the evolving tax landscape. As a fiduciary, my guidance is shaped by a commitment to your specific objectives and financial situation.
I hold an MBA from the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College, alongside dual master's degrees in Industrial Engineering and Management Information Systems from the University of Central Florida. I am a CFP® professional and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®). Additionally, I facilitate a Financial Planning Association knowledge circle, helping to foster growth and collaboration within the professional community.
At home, I am a husband to Pavi and a father to two boys. I stay active in my community by coaching a First Lego League robotics team and an under-11 soccer squad, and I serve on a committee for a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting students and educators. I believe in the importance of helping others find their footing and pursue their own version of the American dream.
